We invite you to share in God's love here at the First Congregational Church of Westminster, and to join us in the warmth of Christian fellowship.

"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God "
(Romans 15:7)
Dear Church Family,

I am sure you are greeting this month of June with the same enthusiasm I feel. After what seemed like an endless winter, it is good to see the longer days of warmth and sunlight, the return of the green leaves and blooming flowers and the lovely hills coming fully alive. This is a great month of the year, and we have much to celebrate and give thanks to God for his wondrous blessings.

On Sunday, May 25th we gave recognition to 12 of our young people who will be graduating from high school in June. They each received a colorful blanket stenciled with their initials and the Christian symbol of the fish. Our prayers for God’s blessings go with them as they move into a larger world. On Thursday, May 29th we held the Baccalaureate Service in our sanctuary for all the graduates from Oakmont this year.

On Sunday, June 15th we will celebrate Children’s Sunday. The children who have added so much to our church life during the year will lead us in our worship, and the program and music promises to be memorable indeed! It is always a joyous and heartfelt time of praising and thanking God for our Sunday School and our life together as a church. Afterwards there will be Ice Cream Sundaes for one and all to enjoy out on the lawn.

And finally, we will have a special celebration on Sunday, June 22nd as we bring together the pledges and gifts of our Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Capital Campaign. We hope every one of our members and friends will plan to be there for this historic event. Together through all of our gifts we hope to refurbish parts of our church facilities, including painting the steeple, and replenish our endowment fund to ensure a vital future for our church for years to come. After the worship service there will be an extra special and delicious picnic on the church lawn.

In all these events we express our sense of God’s presence in every aspect of life through the compassionate, loving and enlivening spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord. Come be part of the Body of Christ here in Westminster as we look forward to this beautiful season of spring.

Yours in Christ,
Robert E. Duebber, Pastor
